Terms of Service

DRAFT TEMPLATE — this document has not been reviewed by an attorney and is not yet a binding legal agreement. It must be reviewed and finalized by qualified counsel before commercial use.

1. The service

HomeplaceOS ("the Service") is a workspace management application: shared calendar, tasks, an encrypted family vault, contacts, kids' learning tools, and an optional assistant. The Service is provided by the operator identified at signup ("we", "us").

2. Your account and workspace

The person who creates a workspace is its Owner and controls membership, roles, and data. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you store and for keeping your sign-in methods (password, passkeys, email) secure. Accounts for children are created and controlled by the workspace's adults.

3. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to break the law, to harm others, to attempt unauthorized access to other workspaces' data, or to disrupt the Service. We may suspend accounts that do.

4. Plans and billing

Free and paid plans are described at signup and in Settings. Paid plans bill through Stripe on a recurring basis until cancelled; you can cancel anytime from Settings and keep access through the end of the paid period. Limits (such as member counts) are enforced per plan.

5. Your data

Your workspace's data belongs to your workspace. You can export it or delete your workspace from Settings at any time. See the Privacy Policy for what we store and how.

6. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability but the Service is provided "as is" without warranties; features may change as the product evolves. We'll communicate material changes to these terms by email or in-app.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amounts you paid for the Service in the twelve months before a claim.

8. Contact

Questions about these terms: contact the workspace support address shown on your invoices or in-app.
